The Colorado Rockies was established in 1991 but started play in 1993. They are a Major League Baseball team based in Denver, Colorado. The team’s name obviously came from the Rocky Mountains which pass through Colorado, just west of Denver. The Rockies play their home games at Coors Field in downtown Denver.

A lot of fans are often seen sporting Rockies jerseys during actual games to show support to the team. Last October 2009, the team completed a season sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers which clinched the Rockies’ second playoff appearance in three years. The victory also marked the Rockies’ 91st win of the season thus breaking the franchise record set in 2007.
